Our Main Mission
Our mission is dedicated to enhancing the overall well-being and welfare of the East Bale
community. Through a commitment to humanitarian assistance, educational programs, health
care and community development initiatives, we aspire to create positive and sustainable
change in the lives of our community members.
We empower and mentor our young generation, diverting them from negative influences
through their active participation in a diverse range of sports activities.
We provide essential equipment to public health clinics and hospitals in rural areas and those
with limited funding.

Who We Are
The East Bale Community Self Service (EBCSS) embodies the spirit of resilience, unity, and a deep commitment to our roots. We are a group of the Oromo diaspora hailing from the East Bale region, a place renowned for its rich history, diverse culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. The region comprises eight counties, including the historic town of Ginnir, which serves as the bustling heart of the area's market, with a 120-year legacy that stands as a testament to our heritage.
Despite the allure of East Bale, the region has suffered from neglect, resulting in drought-related disasters and food insecurity. The schools, farms, and hospitals in Ginnir and surrounding areas are struggling due to the lack of essential resources and equipment.
In response to these challenges, members of the diaspora from Ginnir and neighboring areas, residing in Minnesota, united to make a difference. In 2023, we established EBCSS with a shared vision: to uplift our community and restore hope where it's needed most.
